Location
Belgirate is a beautiful town on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore, one of the most beautiful lakes of Northern Italy. It is 5 km before
Stresa and only 10 minutes from Arona, in the bay of the Borromeo Islands; at the foot of the Alps, it is very close to Monte Rosa and can be
reached through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Ascona and Locarno, two towns in Italian-speaking Switzerland, which can be reached by boat,
car and bus, are also nearby.
Belgirate is a typical Italian lake resort, with olive trees, vineyards, azaleas in spring and camellias in winter and the distinctive boats
in the port. The town boasts several buildings dating back to the 11th century, such as the magnificent Romanic church that dominates the lake
from a privileged position. Belgirate and the bay with the wonderful Borromeo Islands have also always been a favourite spot due to their
proximity to Milan, Malpensa airport and the new international Milan-Rho Exhibition Centre.
